Originally from Ucluelet, Blythe spent three and a half years travelling through the South Pacific, Australia and Asia before returning to the west coast to open a floating grocery store in Hot Springs Cove with her mother. She then attended the University of Victoria and later University of Saskatchewan, obtaining her DVM degree “With Great Distinction” in 1991. She worked in a mixed animal practice for a couple of years before deciding to focus just on cats and dogs. After working with John, John and Margaret as a summer veterinary student in 1989, Blythe rejoined Juan de Fuca Veterinary Clinic in 2007, where she especially enjoys internal medicine and getting to know the clients and their pets.
Blythe and her husband, David and son live in North Saanich with their Labrador – Torchie and a cat – Woody – and operate a beautiful cat boarding facility. Blythe collects old garden roses and species rhododendrons and has grand garden plans that are completely unrealistic. She loves hiking Horth Hill with Torchie and spending too much money in book stores.
