Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT
Jen grew up in Victoria. From a young age she had a strong interest in working with animals, as well as an interest in science and medicine. Being a Veterinary Technologist seemed to be the perfect mix of those subjects. Jen graduated from high school and went straight into the Animal Health Technology program at University College of the Cariboo (now Thompson River University). After graduating from the AHT program in 2003, Jen worked in a mixed animal practice with small animals, horses and exotic pets, and then had the opportunity to work in the biomedical industry. While both of these jobs were very interesting, Jen found that working with dogs, cats and their owners was her favorite area of the veterinary world. She joined the JDF team in 2006, and now gets to enjoy spending her time working with the many wonderful dogs, cats and people.
Jen is always interested in keeping up to date with the latest information in veterinary medicine, as well as learning about dog behavior. While away from work, Jen spends her time with her husband and their three energetic children, looking after their pets (which includes two dogs, a cat, two llamas and chickens), hiking, horseback riding, reading and playing the piano.
