LABORATORY SERVICES

Sometimes a physical exam doesn’t give the whole picture of what is going on with your pet. Many times, the veterinarian will recommend running blood work on your pet to help identify problems that may not be visible to the eye, or to develop a baseline for your pet. We have an in-house laboratory with the capability to run a number of tests requested by the vet. We also have access to a number of others laboratories if a more specialized test is requested or for tests we are unable to run in-house.

If you have any questions about our laboratory services, please do not hesitate to ask.

RADIOLOGY

When we need to figure out what’s wrong with your pet, we routinely use x-rays to help identify the cause of the problem, rule out possible problems, or provide a list of possible causes. We may also use x-rays during a wellness exam to diagnose potential problems before they become serious. We are proud to offer digital radiology that allows us to provide you with a quicker diagnosis for your pet, while using less radiation than traditional x-rays.

If you have any questions about our radiology service or what to expect during your pet’s procedure, please don’t hesitate to ask.

ULTRASONOGRAPHY

Ultrasonography (also called ultrasound or sonography) is a noninvasive, radiation-free and pain-free procedure that uses sound waves to examine a pet’s internal organs and other structures inside the body. It can be used to evaluate the animal’s heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, and bladder; to detect fluid, cysts, tumors, or abscesses; and to confirm pregnancy or monitor an ongoing pregnancy.

If you have any questions about our ultrasonography service or what to expect during your pet’s procedure, please don’t hesitate to ask.

ENDOSCOPY

Endoscopy permits non-surgical evaluation of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and the upper airways – nasal cavity, trachea and bronchi. This procedure, although not surgical, does require general anesthetic in perform. This valuable tool has permitted the removal of all sorts of toys and foreign material from the stomach of dogs and cats.

If your Doctor recommends endoscopy, be confident that we have the experience and skill to perform this non-surgical procedure.
